Nothing like leaving it 'til the last minute. This is my LO for Scrap The Girls. The challenge was to use the word love in the title, turquiose as the main colour and chipboard.

Oops I did it again.....
I am back with some more refashions! I have been scrapping too, I just need to add a some finishing touches and take the photos for you so watch this space. My oops is that I have once again forgotten to take the before photos of my sewing escapades, but I have plenty of afters for you. My gorgeous niece was the recipient of these outfits once again. My own girls are asking me when I am going to sew for them again.
This dress and skirt started it's life as a ladies shirt, great fabric for kids I thought but way to busy on a ladies shirt for my liking. Now it looks like this.......
This next one was actually made from scratch using fabric from my stash that I am trying to work my way through. I am sure that many of you have a bottomless pile of fabrics that have been collected over many years. It is the same basic style as a pillowcase dress.
and this one was an actual pillow case with the addition of a fabric flower....

and this......
and last but not least, this little number made out of scraps, I love the combination of red and pink. I have used the same technique as with the above skirt but with a few extra rows of vertical stitching. I saw this on a girls dress with a $40 price tag and, as any dedicated crafter would, I said to myself "I could make that!"
All up I spent under $8 for everything you see here.
Thank you to my little model. I have to say though that I had forgotten how difficult it can be to photograph a two year old! I took over 100 photos to get these few lol.
Thanks for dropping by, hope to see you here again soon.

February Scrapjacked
It's that time again, the new challenge is up over at Scrap Jacked. There are some fantastic prizes up for grabs from our wonderfully generous sponsors so come on over and be inspired by our clever design team.
My LO is of our recent trip to Disneyland and the iconic spinning teacups. Every time I look at this photo I want to go back and do it all again! DH has talked about taking the kids for years, but it wasn't on the top of my travel wish list, however after visiting with my family I have to say that I am smitten. It truly is a magical place.

From shapeless to stylish.
I have had the sewing machine out again this week and have been finishing up little bits and pieces, mostly just minor adjustments to the kids clothes. I have been busy refashioning a few things but would you believe it, I forgot to take photos before giving them to my nieces DOH!!! I will get them to model them all for me in a few days. One thing I did photograph was this number. It started life as a shapeless grandma top that I picked up $1 but I thought that the geometric pattern had something going for it.
After removing the sleeves, leaving the neckline intact, and taking it in a little my girls are fighting over who gets to keep this funky little dress. I just sort of made this one up as I went along but it turned out so well that I will definitely be making some more.
So do any of you out there reading this like to re-invent clothing? I am always looking for inspiration so please feel free to leave a link to your own blogs in my comments, I'd love to see what you do.
TFL
